Jeremy Lips is an award winning photographer based in both New York City and the Midwest, working at the intersection of style, subject, and storytelling. His work spans realism, abstraction, and renaissance-inspired imagery, often blending elements from multiple genres to create photographs that are both visually striking and conceptually layered. No two projects look the same—each is guided by its own internal logic and visual approach, yet all share a common thread: the desire to elevate the ordinary and reveal the unexpected beauty in everyday subjects.
Jeremy holds BFAs from the University of Kansas and the Rochester Institute of Technology. Over the years, his work has been showcased in several exhibitions, including Photoville and multiple curated shows with American Society of Media Photographers. His photographs have earned recognition from a wide range of prestigious competitions, including the PX3 Prix De La Photographie Paris (Gold Winner), American Photography, Communication Arts Photography Annual, and the World Food Photography Awards. His image “Pear in Black & White” was honored in both PX3 and the Pink Lady Food Photography Awards, exemplifying his ability to merge fine art sensibility with commercial appeal.
Deeply inspired by the masters of photography—such as Edward Weston, Irving Penn, and Man Ray—as well as the rich visual traditions of Dutch painters like Vermeer, Rembrandt, and Caravaggio, Jeremy's work reflects a fascination with light, texture, and form. His compositions often echo the dramatic chiaroscuro and painterly qualities of classical still lifes, reimagined through a contemporary photographic lens.
At the heart of his practice is a personal mission: to share the world as he sees it. Whether photographing a single sweet potato, a stack of chips, or a pear in grayscale, Jeremy brings a sense of intention, quiet drama, and visual poetry to each frame. He invites viewers to pause, look more closely, and discover how the seemingly mundane can become extraordinary when viewed through a new perspective.
